OUTWOD for ORLANDO - Nationwide

Today, OUTWOD, the largest national organization for bringing together LGBTQ athletes and their allies to sweat together in a safe, inclusive group fitness environment, has announced a nationwide effort to raise funds for the victims of the Orlando tragedy at Pulse nightclub. OUTWOD will be hosting multiple events across the nation in New York City, Los Angles, Chicago, Miami, Detroit, and Nashville.

Funds from the events will go to benefit the Orlando Youth Alliance and the Equality Florida - Pulse Victims Fund


WHAT: OUTWOD for Orlando

DETAILS: Each city will be hosting the same workout. A suggested donation of $30 will be requested at the end of your registration.


JULY 9th

In teams of 2, perform the following 20:00 AMRAP:

6 Power Clean + Jerks (RX 155/105, Scale One 135/95, Scale Two 95/65)

12 Push-Ups

16 Kettlebell Swings (RX 32kg/24kg, Scale One 24kg/16kg, Scale Two 16kg/12kg)

49 Air Squats

Rules: Alternate movements between partners. On the 49 - partners will decide how to split the reps. Partners will alternate their starting movement each round. For example, Partner 1 does 6 Power Cleans, then Partner 2 will do 12 Push-ups, Partner 1 will do Kettlebell Swings, the Partners will share the 49 reps and on the next round Partner 2 will begin with the Power Cleans...and so on for 20 minutes.

Notes: As always, OUTWOD is open to everyone and scaled movements will be provided on site for anyone needing to scale or those who have never performed these movements before.

OUTWOD was founded by LGBTQ athlete and advocate, Will Lanier, who has grown this unique organization to a network which expands across multiple markets including New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Denver, Dallas, and Nashville and includes over 2,000 members nationwide including NBC’s Biggest Loser fitness personality, Bob Harper.

Since its inception in 2011, OUTWOD has been the catalyst for over $50,000.00 in donations to LGBTQ friendly charities and organizations including the Ali Forney Center, the Family Equality CouncilImmigration Equality, the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the New York City LGBT Community Center, and more.
